Back in 2020, I got into coyote hunting. I told myself I wouldn’t spend a fortune on this sport, but man, I was hooked! Fast forward a couple of years, and I started figuring things out—dropping more and more coyotes. Feeling confident, the guys and I entered a local tournament, thinking we were the Big Dogs after taking down 1-2 coyotes in a weekend.

Reality check. We didn’t even finish in the top three-quarters of the field. Some teams were rolling in with 20-25 coyotes like it was nothing.

That lit a fire under us. We trained harder, refined our skills, and upgraded our gear. The next year, we entered again, this time with six coyotes. Still, we got blown out of the water. No placement. No glory. Just more motivation.

Fast forward to January 2023—I saw a gap in the sport. Not everyone has endless land or tens of thousands of dollars in high-end gear. So, I created a tournament for those hunters—the guys grinding just like we were. And people loved it.

Now it’s 2024, and I’m thinking bigger for 2025—something that’s never been done before. So, I’m beyond excited to introduce the first-ever season-long coyote hunting points trail: the Ohio Sunset Raid Series.
